Quickly becoming one of the breed's most impressive young sires for his consistency in adding type, quality, size, and athletic ability to his foals, SHANGHAI is a full brother to world champions in both performance and in-hand, and has been a champion in both of these divisions himself.
A product of the beauty and type of Beamington, combined with the staying power and show horse ways of Fleetwing, Shanghai offers mare owners a solid outcross for their Nocturne/In Command linebred mares. Passing on the great shoulder of Forevermore, his foals are smooth bodied, short backed, typey and correct, and are wearing a very curvy, natural neck set and poll flex that is written in the breed standard, but seldom seen today. They are also extremely athletic in all the right ways, with significant improvement over the mares in nearly every case.

His foals to date include Benediction (x HVK Noble Melody), the 2006 Jubilee Futurity Champion Weanling Colt and winner of the Jubilee Open Weanling Colt class, as well as Winden Mai Tai (x Beadazzling), winner of the 2006 Jubilee Open Weanling Filly class and the Reserve Champion Jubilee Futurity Weanling Filly, now in training and looking forward to a 2008 harness debut. Winden Reign (out of KEW Sovereign), also a Jubilee Futurity Weanling Colt Champion and winner of his open weanling colt class as well, is shaping up under saddle and will also make a 2008 debut. Winden Dynasty (x KEW Sovereign) captured the 2007 Jubilee Futurity Yearling Colt & Gelding Reserve Championship and may be seen in harness in 2008. There will be six foals by Shanghai in 2007 and we are very excited about this latest group out of mares by the likes of Futurity French Command, Issues 'N Answers, Century On Command, Funquest Monarch and Century Free Spirit.
