It's finally Spring! And Horse Fair Time!

Region Five is a hot bed of Horse Fair activities this time of year. With this winter having been very tough on most of us in Region Five, we are all ready for our spring "meet and greets" at the various Horse Fairs and Fests in our region. Unfortunately, the Illinois Horse Fair had to be canceled, but hopefully, you can get to one of the others in the region to catch up with Morgan friends and news...

Susan Motter of Prairie Hill Morgans will be very busy the next couple of weeks:

"We are once again in preparation for our annual trips to a couple spring Midwest Horse Expos with our Morgan horses and would like to invite all to visit our stalls, meet our Morgans & introduce ourselves if you are attending either event.

The first upcoming expo we will be attending is the NDSU Horse Fair in Fargo, North Dakota on April 19th & 20th. It's held at the horse park in Fargo where the race track is. We'll have two horses on display in stalls and will participate in the Parade of Breeds each day and have a booth with information on our farm & the Morgan breed.

The following weekend we will travel to the Minnesota Horse Expo in St. Paul, MN at the state fairgrounds April 25 - 27th. This is a much bigger event with hundreds of vendors and thousands of equine loving visitors. You can visit their website to check out the schedule of speakers & events: http://www.MnHorseExpo.org. We will participate in breeds demos with the North Central Morgan Horse Assn as well as the Parade of Breeds at noon each day."

The weekend of April18-20th will find the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Wisconsin once again. The Wisconsin Morgan Horse Club will have a breed booth and several nationally known Morgans in several disciplines on display in Barn 2. They will be involved in Breed Demos on Friday and Saturday, well as participating in the stallion parades and breed parades each day. Eitan will have his wonderful Morgan ambassadors there doing "Cowboy Dressage" as well. See the complete schedule at their website www.midwesthorsefair.com.

I will be at Midwest Horse Fair on Friday, April 18th if you would like to talk before the May BOD meeting in Vermont.

If I have missed any local Horse Fairs/Fests please let me know. Then, coming up soon will be Horse Shows and beautiful trail ride weather in our region!
