Dear Region 3 Members:I would like to thank all AMHA Region 3 members for your vote in the 2008 election... I hope through my actions to earn the trust and approval of every member. The direction of AMHA and the Morgan horse as a whole is going forward and I encourage you to get involved and help support our breed. I presently serve on the board of AMHI and am delighted to join the board of AMHA. I hope that by serving on both I can foster greater communication and spirit of collaboration. The Minnesota convention was a huge success! Although it was chilly, everyone enjoyed the exciting seminars and barn tours. So many great committees are working diligently to continue the growth of our Morgan Horse. Some highlights included: - NAIS is on our radar screen and we will have information out as we have it. - AMHA membership accounts as of 12/31/2007 are at 10,821. - Barns 8 and 9 will be all new for the 2008 Grand National. - The National Museum of the Morgan Horse has a new Council and they are moving forward with some wonderful new ideas. - The Stallion Service Auction set a record with $159,639 raised! The AMHI/AMHA Capital Building Committee is planning a great get together on Derby weekend May 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2008 in Shelburne VT. - On Friday there will be a tour of the AMHA Headquarters and a walk through our National Museum with a wine and cheese party. We will be enjoying a trio from the Vermont Youth Orchestra during this event. - Saturday we hope you will enjoy some of Vermont's points of interest and we are putting together some barn tours for you to enjoy. Saturday evening at our Derby party there will be a gourmet meal and open bar all hosted complimentary for your enjoyment. Great door prizes and a band for dancing will make this a great kickoff for spring! - Sunday morning we invite you to join us for a coffee bar with all the treats you can imagine .There will be a jazz quartet to enjoy while you continue to catch up with your horse friends and families. You will be able to check out the new two stall horse barn built to house Morgan horses – a Dream come true since "On to Shelburne" was initiated. Please feel free to contact me at jack@morganhorse.com for more information or to "save your seat" What exciting times… and I am glad to say we can all be part of the excitement. TOGETHER WE CAN!
