AMHA 2008 Board of Directors ElectionShelburne VT -- Ballots for the 2008 American Morgan Horse Association Board of Directors election were mailed Thursday, December 27, 2007 to all eligible voters. Only those General, Life, Youth Life (eighteen years of age or older), or Youth (eighteen years of age or older) Members in good standing at the close of business on December 31, 2006, are entitled to notice of, and to vote at, the Annual Meeting or any continuation thereof. Completed ballots must returned to the Tabulating Agent and post-marked no later than February 1st , or received by the Tabulating Agent no later than February 12th. Voters should mark their vote for a particular candidate(s) by marking X in the space before the name(s) of the candidate(s). Ballots should be mailed to the tabulating agent as follows: Amplitude Research, Inc., 2255 Glades Road, Suite 324A, Boca Raton, FL 33431 in the envelope provided. No ballots will be accepted unless returned in the provided envelope. Faxes will not be accepted. Voting members may cast their vote in person in the tabulation room from 9 AM until the time of the close of the election. Picture ID is required for identification purposes. In February 2008, six directors are to be elected for terms ending in 2011 from these candidates: Region 3: Sherry Cole, Ed Creighton, Jack Gatewood (two directors will be elected); Region 4: Pat West; Region 5: Kris Breyer, Ling Fu Wyllie (two directors will be elected); Region 10: Barbara Hewitt; and Director-at-Large: Harry Sebring. Five of the candidates on the slate (Cole, Creighton, Hewitt, Sebring & Wyllie) are incumbent directors eligible for another term. Biographical information on the candidates was provided in the association's November/December newsletter and The Morgan Horse magazine. The successful candidates will be announced at the Association's Convention during the annual meeting of members, to be held on Friday, February 15, at 3:30 PM, at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. |

Enjoy Your Morgan in Competition with Other BreedsIf you and your Morgan like to compete in open shows, competitive trail rides, endurance, carriage competitions, Dressage, or western working competitions, you can earn points toward a year-end award, a medallion, or even earn a prestigious sport horse award. The AMHA Open Competiton Program is getting bigger and better all the time. There is a once-only lifetime fee of $40 per horse entered into the program, or you can enter for one year at $15. There is a terrific mutual benefit for the Morgan breed and for you and your horse when you join the AMHA Open Competition Program. |
If Competition Isn't Your Thing...The AMHA Pathways Program is a great way to receive recognition for your non-competitive hours in the saddle or in the carriage with your Morgan. Training/conditioning/pleasure trail hours can all be entered into your Pathways log. There is a once-only lifetime fee of $45 per horse. Trouble Logging Into the Member ExtranetRecently, AMHA began integrating its database with the website. If you have not logged into the Member Extranet recently and updated your account settings, please use your membership number as the username and password (no preceding zero). Once you are logged into the Member Extranet, click on "Your Account" if you would like to change either your password and/or username. If you signed up or renewed your membership online and indicated a username and password, you are all set. Remember, when searching for a horse using the Online Registry Access do not include spaces when typing in the horse's name. Cookies and javascript must be enabled for this service to work properly. The Classified Ad log in has not been integrated yet and your old password will work for that. If you are a new user, please complete the registration form located at https://www.morganhorse.com/marketplace/submit.php |
Do You Own A Breeding Stallion? If You Do ...The deadline for filing your breeding report is January 15, 2008. If you file after January 15th there is a late fee! Submit your 2007 stallion breeding reports now and check it off your to-do list! Report forms are available on line at www.morganhorse.com. Call or e-mail the Registry and we will mail, e-mail or fax you a blank report form. Reports can be faxed if you use a credit card to pay the filing fee. However, if you fax the report, please do NOT mail it as well - faxing and mailing can result in duplicate charges to your credit card. DO IT NOW! DON'T WAIT! Did You Use Frozen Semen In 2007?If you bred any of your mares in 2007 using frozen semen and you are NOT the owner of stallion that produced the semen, it is your responsibility to report this breeding by filing a Stallion Breeding Report. The stallion owner cannot file the report. The person that sold you the frozen semen cannot file the report. The mare owner at the time of breeding must file the report. This report must be filed by January 15th to avoid a late fee. Report forms are available on line at www.morganhorse.com.
