2008 AMHA Annual ConventionFebruary 13-16, 2008 Hyatt Regency Minneapolis Minneapolis, Minnesota Don't delay, the pre-reservation cut-off date for the AMHA Annual Convention is January 18, and host hotel is January 17! Your foals will be on the ground before you know it, so thankfully Harry Sebring and Garn Walker will be on hand to walk you through Showing & Marketing the Young Horse. Already have a youth program or thinking about one? Developing a Lesson Program with Sandy Sessink, Colleen Wick, and Chris Cassenti is an essential stop for you. These professionals have some of the most renowned youth programs in the country, come see what makes it work. Don't miss additional youth seminars on Saturday including How to Run a Youth Contest and How to Start a Youth Club, hosted by Youth Steering Committee Chairs Leitha Stone and Sara Foy. Saturday February 16, 2008 Whether you are involved in showing or promotional events, you'll appreciate Anne Judd's advice as she takes you through Events Broadcasting the Way of the Future. In this seminar, Anne will give you tips and tricks to help make script reading and coverage at your next event first-rate. Properly Fitting the Saddle continues to mystify both the professional and equine newcomer. Let Morgan owner and professional saddle fitter Cordia Pearson debunk the myths and give you the tools you need to saddle any horse in confidence. Pick the mind of our most accomplished professionals in the Trainer Round Tables covering Western, English, Sport, and Equitation! Enjoy Your Morgan in Competition with Other BreedsIf you and your Morgan like to compete in open shows, competitive trail rides, endurance, carriage competitions, Dressage, or western working competitions, you can earn points toward a year-end award, a medallion, or even earn a prestigious sport horse award. The AMHA Open Competiton Program is getting bigger and better all the time. There is a once-only lifetime fee of $40 per horse entered into the program, or you can enter for one year at $15. There is a terrific mutual benefit for the Morgan breed and for you and your horse when you join the AMHA Open Competition Program. |
If Competition Isn't Your Thing...The AMHA Pathways Program is a great way to receive recognition for your non-competitive hours in the saddle or in the carriage with your Morgan. Training/conditioning/pleasure trail hours can all be entered into your Pathways log. There is a once-only lifetime fee of $45 per horse. Do You Own A Breeding Stallion? If You Do ...The deadline for filing your breeding report is January 15, 2008. If you file after January 15th there is a late fee! Submit your 2007 stallion breeding reports now and check it off your to-do list! Report forms are available on line at www.morganhorse.com. Call or e-mail the Registry and we will mail, e-mail or fax you a blank report form. Reports can be faxed if you use a credit card to pay the filing fee. However, if you fax the report, please do NOT mail it as well - faxing and mailing can result in duplicate charges to your credit card. DO IT NOW! DON'T WAIT! Did You Use Frozen Semen In 2007?If you bred any of your mares in 2007 using frozen semen and you are NOT the owner of stallion that produced the semen, it is your responsibility to report this breeding by filing a Stallion Breeding Report. The stallion owner cannot file the report. The person that sold you the frozen semen cannot file the report. The mare owner at the time of breeding must file the report. This report must be filed by January 15th to avoid a late fee. Report forms are available on line at www.morganhorse.com.
