AMHA makes plans to attend NIAA Workshop



Representatives from AMHA are planning to attend National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA) workshop on April 3,2008 focusing on National Animal Identification. "Discussions on the opportunities and challenges of the USDA-generated "A Business Plan to Advance Animal Disease Traceability" and pending implementation of Country of Origin Labeling are two key topics on the agenda of the 2008 INFO Workshop." stated NIAA.

AMHA forms WEG committee to develop response to RFP



The World Games 2010 Foundation announced Monday March 10, 2008 it is requesting proposals for equine exhibitions and demonstrations to be showcased at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park, September 25-October 10, 2010. Equine organizations interested in hosting an exhibition or demonstration, for breeds, disciplines, or equestrian sports, must submit an application to the World Games 2010 Foundation by May 1, 2008 outlining its proposed exhibition(s) and/or demonstration(s). AMHA President Cindy Mugnier stated, "AMHA's WEG committee will be working hard to submit an exciting, informative and entertaining exhibition that will showcase the Morgan breed."

AMHA & SmartPak Affiliate Partnership



The American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA) announced today an Affiliate Partner Agreement with SmartPak, Inc. Since its founding in 1999, SmartPak has emerged as a leader in daily dose packaging of equine and canine foods, medicines and nutritional products. Morgans make Blaze magazine fun!



The fall 2007 issue of BLAZE magazine asked kids to write in and tell them what the horses in the attached picture were thinking?

Morgan readers should recognize these familiar faces! In the water trough is Zach Hendricks (nephew of Shery Jesperson) and those curious horses are Hmstd Chicklette, Apple Pi Dolly Rose and Rosetta Sage LR).

Momentum is Building at Your National Museum of the Morgan Horse



The National Museum of the Morgan Horse Council Chairperson, Martha duPont, was pleased to announce a $10,000 Challenge Gift during the February 2008 Convention meeting with the AMHI Board of Trustees. The duPont gift "challenges" the NMMH to raise an equal amount in Annual Fund donations. The funds are earmarked to support NMMH projects, exhibit expansions, and staffing needs.

Barbara Young Announced as New AMHI Development Officer



The American Morgan Horse Institute (AMHI) is pleased to announce that Barbara Young has been selected as its new Development Officer.

Sally Wadhams will now be working full time for the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show, as Director of Sponsor Relations, and is looking forward to another fantastic show in Oklahoma City.
