Change to Frozen Semen ProgramFoals conceived from frozen semen have been eligible for registration in the AMHA Registry since 1986. In 1995 the Registry adopted Rules specific to the registration of foals conceived using frozen semen as this technology was becoming more popular. These Rules were the first of their kind in the equine world. The rules recently were reviewed to determine if they were accomplishing what they were intended to accomplish and to determine if they were as user friendly as possible. It was determined that the Rules were effective, but that a change in procedure could make them more user friendly. More>> Back |
Morgan Weanlings Will Shine In New CompetitionWe are pleased to announce that eligible Morgan weanlings will continue to have a venue to strut their stuff and earn substantial prize money for their owners beginning in 2009. With the conclusion of the Morgan Breeders Sweepstakes in July, a group of people who recognized the importance of this class gathered together in an effort to create a new class for Morgan weanlings to compete for honor and prize money. Their efforts were realized earlier this month when the American Morgan Horse Institute (AMHI) offered the group an umbrella to work under. More>> Back |
