US Equestrian (USEF) governs Morgan show rules. USEF rates equine competitions, licenses judges and other officials, and publishes and enforces competition rules.
Rule change proposals can be submitted to the USEF Morgan Rules Committee or to the AMHA office. The proposal will be reviewed by the appropriate committee and then proceed to the USEF Board of Directors for approval or disapproval.
AMHA holds informal Rules Forums around the country each year. Forums give AMHA members an opportunity to learn about the current proposals and to provide feedback.
If you are a USEF member, you may submit a Rules Change Proposal by going to http://prc.usef.org/proposal/submit.aspx. There you will find a step by step procedure for submitting your proposal. It is extremely important to follow all current USEF procedures.
When attending horse shows throughout the show season, find out if there is a USEF Rules Forum being offered and make a point to attend. Every owner, trainer, breeder and exhibitor has the responsibility to educate themselves about the rules that govern the sport in which they participate. Become familiar with the USEF Rules Book and become an active part of the rules change process.
