AMHA Nominates Hudson for National Award

November 20, 2019

The US Equestrian Youth Sportsman’s Award is presented annually to a junior member of USEF to recognize “future leaders within the equine industry from across all breeds and disciplines” and to recognize their achievements. Nominees should demonstrate a variety of characteristics including positive sportsmanship and leadership skills and be active in the promotion of equestrian sport. The annual winner receives a commemorative trophy and a financial grant for the educational goals.

Since the award’s inception in 2006 AMHA has proudly recommended an exemplary member each year and on four occasions the award recipient has gone to an AMHA Youth member; Caitlin Novotny, 2006; Maxie Gumprecht, 2009; Sascha Mills, 2011; and Clea Cloutier, 2018.

The 2019 AMHA nominee is another shining example of excellence in horsemanship, sportsmanship, academics and leadership. Taylor Hudson of Fairview, Pennsylvania, is a high school senior carrying a 4.68 GPA while participating in National Honor Society, Varsity Softball, Speech and Debate Team, Model UN Team, Student Council and the Spanish Club. Taylor is also an active volunteer in her community and hopes to attend veterinary school in the future.

Taylor is also an accomplished equestrian and active member of AMHA. She serves as a regional delegate on the AMHA Youth Council, is the coordinator for the Tri-State Youth of the Year contest and a member of the Morgan Patriots Youth Group. Most recently Taylor topped a field of 19 competitors to win the 2019 AMHA Youth of the Year Finals at the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show.

We are proud and excited to nominate Taylor Hudson for the US Equestrian Youth Sportsman’s Award for 2019 and anxiously await the announcement of the winner.
