In Memoriam: Thomas H. Ingold

Thomas H. Ingold, age 89, of Iron River, MI passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI.

He was born on February 20, 1933 in Ottawa, IL, the son of the late William and Mary (Churchill) Ingold. He attended the Lake Forest, IL Schools, graduating with the Class of 1951.  He was a US Navy Veteran. Tom married Susan Wester Lundwall on June 20, 1956 at Holy Family Church in North Chicago, IL.  She preceded him in death on February 25, 1983. 

He was employed as a marketing manager for a wood products company.  Tom was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian and the Knights of Columbus, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and was a lifetime member of the American Morgan Horse Association.  He enjoyed raising Morgan Horses, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking.   

Tom is survived by his children, Martha (Paul) Ten Pas of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Tom (Susan) Ingold Jr. of Iron River, MI, and Roy (Malinda) Ingold of Lake Tomahawk, WI; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nephew, Alec Ingold; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Susan Hanson and Amy Moesch and brothers, Charles C. and William R. Ingold.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.  The Fourth Degree Honor Guard of the Knights of Columbus will stand a wake watch during the visitation. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Ingold to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. 

Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.  The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
