Zoetis Partners With Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show® and American Morgan Horse Association for the Betterment of Equine Health

Every Morgan horse returned home from the competition with QUEST® PLUS Gel (moxidectin/praziquantel)

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., October 20, 2022 — Morgan horse lovers know that when horses recognize care and dedication, they return it tenfold. Zoetis Equine stands by the side of horses and their caregivers every day, helping strengthen those relationships by providing a health care portfolio designed to help horses live happy, healthy lives. Thousands of Morgan enthusiasts gather each year for the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show®. This year every Morgan horse entered returned home from the competition with free dewormer gel to prepare their horses for the winter months ahead.

“As a longtime Morgan horse owner, I am elated that Zoetis Equine has partnered with the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show and the American Morgan Horse Association for the third consecutive year,” said Jessica Normand, senior marketing manager, equine pharmaceuticals and brand, Zoetis. “Morgans—and all horses—add so much to our lives, and they deserve the best possible care in return. Our organizations are mutually passionate about supporting the well-being of the horses we love.”

Always by the side of horses and their caregivers

Zoetis Equine fosters the horse-human bond through dedicated teams of equine veterinarians and other horse health experts who provide support to both veterinary professionals and horse owners every step of the way. As the U.S. Equine division of Zoetis, the organization provides vaccines that help protect against potentially fatal equine diseases; diagnostic tools that offer veterinarians convenience; medications that facilitate sedation and pain management; regenerative medicine devices; dewormers, and other comprehensive equine care solutions.

A partnership to promote horse health

As part of this partnership, Zoetis provided every Morgan horse entered into the 2022 Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show with a syringe of QUEST® PLUS Gel dewormer. This is very timely, as the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) Internal Parasite Control Guidelines recommend that adult horses receive a late fall/early winter deworming treatment for small strongyles and tapeworms—the two parasites of greatest health concern in mature horses. Moxidectin, one of the active ingredients in Quest Plus Gel, is considered the experts’ treatment of choice against small strongyles, which treats both the encysted larval and adult stages1. Praziquantel, the second active ingredient in Quest Plus Gel, treats tapeworms. Watch this video to learn more about deworming your horse correctly, and always consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism1.

Do not use Quest® Plus Gel in foals less than 6 months of age or in sick, debilitated and underweight horses. Do not use in other animal species, as severe adverse reactions, including fatalities in dogs, may result. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism.
