AMHA’s own, HD Harkness, has been busy serving as a breed ambassador for the Morgan horse. Owned by Mary Chris and Martin Foxworthy, HD Harkness, better known as “Hark”, has been a long-time breed ambassador. Hark has reached thousands of people through his very own book, “Hark! Follow My Hoofbeats”, as well as many special appearances. Just in the last two months, Hark was announced as a Morgan horse representative at both the upcoming Midwest Horse Fair and BreyerWest in 2024.

The Midwest Horse Fair is a three-day equine fair held annually since 1979 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Equine organizations and ambassadors from across the country come to the Midwest Horse Fair to promote the ever-growing equine industry. All proceeds coming from the Fair are put towards the perpetuation of equine through means of education, service, and so much more. Playing the role as “Celebrity Horse” at the Fair, Hark will be helping to educate and further the awareness of the Morgan horse, having the potential to reach up to 60,000 people in attendance. For those interested in attending or reading more about the Fair, visit the Midwest Horse Fair website.

Receiving yet another great opportunity to represent the breed, HD Harkness was announced in early November as the 2024 BreyerWest Exclusive Special Run Model. This model is only available to those who attend BreyerWest in person at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo in Denver, Colorado. The event is to take place March 15th-17th, so be sure to get your tickets starting on December 1st for the opportunity to purchase your very own exclusive Special Run model of HD Harkness! To find more information on Hark’s Special Run Model, take a look at the BreyerWest Blog from November.

AMHA is proud to share Hark’s adventures and will continue to follow him on all his special appearances, so stay tuned for more on HD Harkness!
